Classical Christian
Education

The Classical method is a time-tested way of educating, instrumental in bringing about some of the greatest minds of the world.

OUR APPROACH

As a Classical Christian School, OCA has high academic standards. Traditional, core subjects are taught throughout a student’s time at OCA. Moreover, OCA uses young people’s God-given strengths at each age to help them learn.

Grammar Stage

In Grades K-5, we utilize children’s love of song and repetition to help them memorize fundamentals in various subjects to build a vast base of information. Students will find a fun and challenging curriculum that includes Bible, reading, writing, math, history, science, and early Latin concepts taught by caring teachers who engage in a Christ-like manner.

Logic Stage

In grades 7-8, we make the most of the developmental stage when students begin to question things and are naturally more argumentative. They learn to think critically, form an argument with wisdom and eloquence, and deliver it respectfully.

We continue to challenge our Middle and High School students to become more engaged, self-advocating learners via a thoroughly Christian education including Bible, English, math, science, history, literature, and language.

Rhetoric Stage

In grades 9-12, students are armed with facts about the world and have learned to determine truths and fallacies. During this stage, they become independent thinkers and practice persuasive speaking and effective writing as they seek to become winsome and eloquent in their expression. While they pursue distinct areas of study, the integration of their education comes full circle as they seek to make sense of the world through a Biblical worldview.
